此次研讨会的召开主要是上海生物信息技术研究中心与德国亥姆霍兹慕尼黑中心-德国健康与环境中心（The Helmholtz Zentrum München - German Research Center for Environmental Health ，HMGU）的合作交流。
       2010年6月8日至10日，第二届II型糖尿病研讨会在杭州召开，中心主任李亦学教授、副主任刘雷教授、主任助理谢鹭研究员、李园园研究员，以及中科院营养与代谢重点实验室主任林旭教授参加了本次会议。德方主要参会代表为流行病学研究所主任H.-Erich Wichmann 教授，分子流行病学研究室主任Thomas Illig博士，以及Rui Wang-Sattler 博士等14名中德科学家，会上各国研究人员都进行了最新研究项目的介绍和交流。2010年6月11日， H.-Erich Wichmann 教授和 Christian Gieger博士，在生科院做了“Population-based epidemiology in Germany”和“Genetically determined intermediate phenotypes and their associations to complex diseases”的报告，获得众多学生的好评。
       会后德方的研究人员还参观了中科院系统生物学重点实验室、中科院营养与代谢重点实验室等。双方并就学术进展、数据交流、科研项目申请计划等进行了深入探讨，为双方在II型糖尿病研究方面的合作提供了很好的交流平台。

The Helmholtz Zentrum München - German Research Center for Environmental Health (HMGU)

HMGU, the National Research Center for Environmental Health of the German Government and the State of Bavaria, is a member of the Helmholtz Association of National Research Centers contributing to the foundation of future Medicine and Health Care. It consists of 22 institutes and 3 independent departments. It employs more than 1600 scientists, students and technical staff and runs a budget of 156 Million Euro.
