The 21th International Conference on Genome Informatics will be held at Hangzhou, China,
during December 16-18, 2010. | General Information | Genome Informatics Workshop (GIW, http://giw.ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp/giw/index.html) is the
longest running international bioinformatics conference in the world. The scope includes all work
that is ultimately devoted to the computational understanding of biological systems on a molecular
basis and the aims are to present recent results of both theoretical and practical research, to
show new applications, to demonstrate systems, and directions of future research. The first GIW was held at Kikai Shinko Kaikan, Tokyo in 1990. GIW was held annually in Japan (Tokyo, later Yokohama) until 2007. For 2007, it is the first time that GIW is held outside of Japan. Shanghai Society for Bioinformatics, Shanghai University and Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences in China, are honored to host GIW2010.
