研究兴趣包括基因结构预测、调控模块识别、元基因组学和病原基因组学中的模型和算法。研究内容包括运用比较基因组学的方法从基因组序列中寻找有意义的信息以及基于新一代快速测序技术的生物序列分析方法和系统研究。这些方法和系统将通过分析生物序列信息帮助我们更好地理解一些生物过程,比如基因组变异对病原致病性的影响、对基因的可变剪切以及表达调控的影响等。最终的目的是将这些知识运用到医学诊断,疾病治疗以及疾病预防。在基因组注释和生物序列分析方面进行了比较深入的研究,已在PLoS Biology, Genome Research,Genome Biology, Bioinformatics,BMC Bioinformatics以及PLoS ONE等期刊发表了一系列相关的论文。
Research interests include modeling and algorithms in gene structure prediction, regulatory module finding, metagenomics and pathogen genomics analysis. Major research contents are comparative-genomics and biological sequence analysis methods and systems based on next-generation sequencing technology. The methods and systems can improve the understanding of some biological processes by sequence information, such as the impact of genome sequence mutations on pathogenicity of microbes, alternative splicing and gene expression regulation. The final goal is to apply these knowledge to medical diagnose, disease therapy and disease prevention. Research results in gene annotation and biological sequence analysis have been published in a series of papers in PLoS Biology, Genome Research, Genome Biology, Bioinformatics, BMC Bioinformatics, and PLoS ONE.
